Buying A Pub

I am looking into buying some land and building a pub.?

Any suggestions as to how to get started would be great, in particular the building and licencing of the pub side of things.

The council in which you want to build can advise you on licensing for the pub. The license comes from the State Government, but local will approve zoning and give approval for building.

If you are in NSW – With the new liquor licenses that came in this year you may be better off setting up a bar (cafe/restaurant with the new liquor license). VIC already has a similar kind of licensing and many of the other states will follow suit. If you are looking near a residential area there may be a lot of backlash, so you need to make sure you have all written approvals before buying land or building.

You could also look at buying an established pub if you have enough money to do so.
